Release number 13 of Sudoku Dragon is now available. With increasing interest in the big grid (16x16 sudokus) we are now pleased to support both a hexadecimal numbers (0-9 and a-f) as well as letters (a to p) for symbols in the grid. We've also added a Stripe to all our daily and online generated puzzles. This is a new option whenever a new puzzle is generated by the program. If you have any comments on this new feature please contribute to this topic with your comments. A number of problems have been reported and now fixed but these were unlikely to affect most people. See the detailed list for description of all the fixes. Any comments ? Click here to contributeLast square highlight (re: Release 13 features) contributed by Lynne
I like the highlighting of the last Sudoku square to be allocated. When I'm solving a puzzle on paper I often lose track of which square I solved last. I usually want to check whether solving one square leads to a solution for other squares. It helps to have it highlighted on the screen so I don't need to remember which one it was. Any comments ? Although I find the Big Grid (16x16) takes too much time to solve normally. I do think that the new option of both letters A to Z and the hexadecimal display (0 to 9 and A to F) makes more sense. I've seen a number of pritned puzzles in the hexadecimal notation and so it is useful to have this option. The all letter display still makes more sense to me though. Any comments ? Other Sudoku puzzle solvers have more flexibility on the color and style of the grid. You can only have one 'custom' style and that requires a lot of fiddling. What's worse is that the print style is always the same as the display style so that if you like light on dark for the screen you have to have that for the print-out too. Could the program be changed to give a choice of skins or themes to display the grid? Any comments ? Click here to contributeCopyright © 2005-2013 Sudoku Dragon |
